How do I recycle batteries?
Batteries can be recycled by taking them to your local household chemical roundup. Some common household batteries (i.e., AA, AAA, C, D, and 9-volts) are not thought to pose a hazard to the environment and can be legally put in the trash for disposal at the local landfill. Car, phone, tool, and computer batteries should be recycled. Many businesses take batteries in return for a core charge or with the purchase of a new battery. Tri-County Health Department will accept all batteries to be recycled at household chemical roundups.
