public health documentary series "Prescription for Survival - A Global Health Challenge" This groundbreaking project examines what makes us sick, what keeps us healthy and what it would take to improve health across the globe. This special airs on Rocky Mountain PBS - and nationwide - for three nights, Nov 1 - 3 from 9:00 pm - 11:00 pm. ![]() From vaccines to antibiotics, clean water to nutrition, HIV/AIDS to avian influenza, the six-part series Rx for Survival tells the compelling stories of public health champions and the communities they strive to protect. With historical dramatic sequences and current documentary stories, the series showcases key milestones in public health alongside the modern challenges of global pandemics. Rx for Survival highlights the numerous public health breakthroughs and interventions that have more than doubled life expectancy in developed countries within the past century. It also explores how the lack of access to basic health interventions leaves many impoverished countries plagued by preventable diseases. Rx for Survival PBS website and seven-minute preview (Website) Rx for Survival will be available on DVD and VHS in December, wherever videos are sold. |
